Corona virus update (We also now have a dedicated page for further information - see button 2 under "Further information)
Do you have symptoms of Corona Virus?
From Monday 23 March, anyone who feels they have symptoms of the Corona Virus should phone 111. An assessment hub has been set up to assess patients and you will be offered an appointment at that hub if it is felt you need to be seen. In normal GP hours the 111 number should not be used for anything other than assessment for the corona virus. All other queries should be directed to the practice.
If you have asthma and are worried about whether you are covered in the new guidelines for shielding vulnerable patients, please check the Asthma UK website which gives very clear guidelines: www.asthma.org.uk/coronavirus
If you have COPD guidance can be found at www.blf.org.uk/support-for-you/coronavirus
You will need to self isolate for 7 days if you develop a new persistent cough or a fever. You should not come to the surgery with these symptoms. You will not need a sick line. Your household members also need to isolate for 14 days. You can download an isolation certificate from the NHS 111 website. You are allowed to complete the isolation certificate on behalf of someone who doesn't have access to internet or email. Here is the link:
Please only ask the surgery for a traditional sick line for something that is not related to the Corona Virus.
At this time the easiest way to order your prescription, if you are not already registered with patient access is to send an email to our secure clinical mailbox:
We will accept telephone orders from our elderly patients and those who don't have email access. Please don't over order. Most prescriptions are for 2 months. If you submit more than one order we will only process one. The Pharmacies are running about 5 days behind so it will take a week to process the prescriptions. Any urgent prescriptions will be prioritised.
You should also speak to your local pharmacy about arranging to pick the prescription up from there directly.
Until further notice all of our appointments will be by phone in the first instance in line with Government advice and our GP's will decide if you need to be seen in person. All advanced booked appointments will be changed to telephone appointments until further notice, but we will have to cancel routine annual reviews. We also have the facility to carry out Video Consultations. Check out the "VIDEO CONSULTATIONS" tab on the right under the "Further Information" heading.
